UPDATE 05/11/2020:

The Internal Revenue Service says taxpayers for whom the IRS does not have direct deposit information should go to the Get My Payment website and enter that information by noon Wednesday 05/13/2020 so they receive their stimulus payment electronically. After that time, eligible taxpayers will have to wait for a paper check.
The Get My Payment application will return “Payment Status Not Available” for several reasons. Click here for more information: Payment Status Not Available.

Update 05/01/2020 – $500 Supplementary Economic Impact Payment for Dependents
Not all who should have recieved a $500 relief check for dependents did. It seems there have been technical glitches in the IRS payment systems how it handles dependent information and the system can not always identify the dependents. There are a variety of reasons for this happening.
Currently there is little recourse for most people trying to resolve this issue with the IRS. The agency is not taking calls on this topic. Their automated call system will refer you to their website. The Economic Impact Payment letter which may outline the stimulus check payment details and should provide a way to follow-up on missing or incorrect payments.
The IRS said Wednesday in an updated post on irs.gov that those who did not receive the full amount of their expected stimulus payment, including the supplementary $500 child dependent payment, will need to claim the additional amount when they file their 2020 tax return.
If you receive Supplemental Security Income or Veterans Affairs benefits and didn’t file a tax return for 2018 or 2019, you have until Tuesday to notify the IRS of the $500 payment per dependent child under 17. If you miss the deadline to register dependent children, you will still get your $1,200 payment but will have to wait until next year to get the additional $500 when you file a 2020 tax return. The Tuesday deadline is only applicable to SSI and VA beneficiaries who need to let the IRS know they have dependents eligible for the $500.
“Yes, in some situations. Get My Payment cannot update direct deposit bank account information after an Economic Impact Payment has been scheduled for delivery. To help protect against potential fraud, the tool also does not allow people to change direct deposit bank account information already on file with the IRS. However, people who did not use direct deposit on their last tax return to receive a refund, or when their direct deposit information was inaccurate and resulted in a refund check, will be able to provide that information and speed their payment with a deposit into their bank account.” IRS.gov
To add bank account information, you will also need to provide:
- Your adjusted gross income from the most recent tax return you filed (either your 2019 or 2018 return);
- The refund or amount owed from your latest filed tax return;
- The type of your bank account (e.g., savings or checking); and
- Your bank account and routing numbers.
The “Get My Payment” tool cannot update bank account information after your stimulus check has been scheduled for delivery.
To help protect against potential fraud, the tool also doesn’t allow people to change bank account information already on file with the IRS.
The IRS plans to mail a letter to each taxpayer’s last known address within 15 days after the payment was made. The letter will contain information on how the amount was calculated, and it will include instructions on how to appeal if the amount was incorrect and how they can report a failure to receive a payment.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) says it will not garnish stimulus checks for back taxes. It will, however, take money from your payment if you’re behind on child support.
